A search for the perfect tennis court drew Donna Mills to her charming California home, and soon she’ll have a perfect way to celebrate winning matches: a glass of wine from the hillside vineyard she and her beau built in their backyard.
Their first crop is coming in, “so we’re having friends over to crush the grapes with their feet!” Donna, 74, shares with ‘Closer.’
But the Knots Landing star won’t recreate an ‘I Love Lucy’ episode every time. “The first grapes aren’t good for wine — later, we’ll send them off to be done properly.”

Donna found the English-style cottage in LA’s Brentwood neighborhood, and if it feels like Shangri-La, that’s no accident: It was built by the ‘Last Horizon’ set designer in 1928.
“The canyon used to be a botanical garden,” she reveals. “There’s something peaceful about it that I love.”
When Donna and her adopted daughter Chloe, now 20, moved in 14 years ago, “I said, ‘This is my forever house,'” she admits. And she met her forever love, media trainer Larry Gilman, 65, just two years later.
